Perceptions and Political Participation of Ethnic Chinese Voters at Methodist-2 Medan Private High School in the 2024 Presidential Election

In this study, researchers raised the perception of ethnic Chinese novice voters who participated in the 2024 presidential election. This study is devoted to beginner voters of Chinese Ethnicity at Methodist-2 Medan High School. The research method used is the quantitative research method. Quantitative research is conducted using data collection through questionnaires. Therefore, quantitative research is research in which data is collected using numbers and analyzed using statistical techniques. The purpose of quantitative research is to obtain an object of research problems. Quantitative writing contains data collected from questionnaires that will be distributed to Methodist-2 Medan high school students. Based on the study's results, ethnic Chinese novice voters at Methodist-2 Medan already understand politics and directly participate in the 2024 presidential election. Based on the research, novice voters of ethnic Chinese of SMA Methodist 2 Medan already have democratic awareness. It can be seen from the results of the calculation that the perception of ethnic Chinese novice voters at Methodist-2 Medan Private High School is 69.37% and then 83.05% of political participation, so it can be concluded that perception affects political participation, especially among ethnic Chinese novice voters at Methodist-2 Medan Private High School.
