Journal Elections and Political Parties (JEPP) upholds the highest standards of academic integrity and is strictly committed to preventing plagiarism in any form. All submissions are subject to rigorous plagiarism checks before acceptance for publication.
Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism is the unethical practice of using another person's work, ideas, or expressions without proper acknowledgment. This includes direct copying, self-plagiarism, paraphrasing without citation, and using AI-generated content without disclosure.
Plagiarism Screening
All submitted manuscripts are screened using Turnitin or similar plagiarism detection software before the peer review process. The similarity index must be below 20%, excluding references.
Consequences of Plagiarism
- Minor Plagiarism (Similarity 20-30%) - The manuscript will be returned to the author for revision.
- Moderate Plagiarism (Similarity 30-40%) - The submission will be rejected immediately.
- Severe Plagiarism (Similarity >40%) - The author may be blacklisted from future submissions.
Best Practices for Authors
To maintain academic integrity, authors should:
- Properly cite all sources following JEPP’s referencing style.
- Ensure originality by paraphrasing and synthesizing information.
- Disclose prior publications related to the manuscript.
