Abstract

Consumptive action is now an action that cannot be separated in today's contemporary society, even in their daily activities in academic matters, work, fulfillment of life necessities, and so on. Likewise among students in the city of Medan, who have made consumptive actions a necessity of life, for him with consumptive actions everything can be done by him, and all these things can only be done by consumptive actions. This study aims to determine the formation of consumptive actions on the basis of simulations that are present in the middle. The method used in this research is qualitative research with a descriptive analysis approach. The data collection technique was carried out by collecting techniques using interviews, observation and documentation. The informants in the study were divided into main, additional and key informants, with 8 informants. The results of this study explain that consumptive action on a simulation basis is an action that has complex and varied causes and effects. The causes and effects that exist are also divided into several aspects, existing aspects are also reviewed based on social space, media, social logic of consumption and signs which are aspects that cannot be separated from Jean Paul Baudrillard's ideas. All these aspects are full of simulations, so that in the end the basis and results of each aspect return to the simulation. Student Consumptive Actions make simulations continuously produced, and reproduced into reproductions. So with this there are not a few consumptive students who change the conception of Starbucks form with a form of social differentiation which is far from being a coffee shop, through things like this then reality is blended with simulations which are then blended back together.
