Strengthening the Character of the Millennial Generation through Pancasila and Citizenship Education at SMA Negeri 13 Medan

Abstract

Character education is becoming increasingly important in the era of globalization, especially in shaping the millennial generation through technological advances and popular culture. This community service activity aims to raise awareness of the millennial generation about the importance of character education through Pancasila and Citizenship Education. Through a series of socialization activities at SMA Negeri 13 Medan, North Sumatra, 35 class XII MIA 8 students actively participated, gaining a deeper understanding of the values of Pancasila and citizenship and their important role in shaping strong character. Discussions after the presentations also demonstrated the participants' interest and concern for character building of the millennial generation, with the speakers providing valuable insights on the purpose of character education and leadership development. The success of character education is also reinforced by the role of teachers and parents in supporting good character formation, with supervision outside the school environment and open communication between parents and children being key factors. In conclusion, character education through Pancasila and citizenship plays an important role in shaping a qualified millennial generation ready to lead in the future, requiring cooperation from various parties to ensure the growth of a millennial generation with integrity, responsibility, and care for the nation.
